     Activity 3 Summary of Mr. Ken Smith's Interview 

              Mr. Ken Smith as the Senior MIS Manager, he manages the company’s entire Information System. He is one who controls and manages the information and communication within the system. In short, he does collecting data, stored them and shared to anybody who needs it. 

               In this case study, the MIS department was just newly formed in 1985. It ws supported by the sister American division and they don’t have programmers, just him and two operator and they applied the software in their site. It was the department to put on a computer which they did in papers. The MIS just replacing the classic card based warehouse stock system by developing Plant Inventory Control System. Mr. Ken Smith and his co-workers work on installing the new system which they made some modifications to fit the company’s needs. These are packages they bought from IBM, they added some modules in purchases and it works. The problem in this study is that the American parent company requires different system which Mr. Ken Smith disagreed. He insisted that MAPECS II is not the best software for Company Y. American company uses MAPECS II throughout 1983, 1981, 1985, 1986 and 1987.

              In this section, resolving this problem is being discussed. Like modifying some package that is flexible enough for their need. Input kind to have the Data View bought. Data View creates crystallized benefits in company it wouldn’t work without the MIS department developing it and making it work. They need to replace programs that were just insufficient because it can cause to lock the processor stone dead. But luckily the people in this department have a technical skill that’s why it’s a stable department. The classic situation was part of Data View called reservation that is the picking mechanism whereby to initiate a batch of chemicals and that will send a message to the system that reserves material in the warehouse for the particular batch. But it was unworkable it flawed in logic and flawed in program so it wasn’t going to work. Then they replaced it at that time the senior programmer was the project leader. He was able to deduce exactly what was required what the problems were and they coded a very good system that works perfectly. And the system now works okay though there are some problems on how it used, but the software works perfectly. The MIS department warned very strong before t cut over the system that would never work on the technical basis, it just wasn’t capable of working the thing it would do as before. In the last part, the system was being implemented and well- maintained and MIS Department manages some training seminars to all the users of the system and it works.

Activity 2 in System Analysis and Design Final

1. Information Systems Development Plan is a one way process which will lead the project to be more reliable, secure and efficient. All processes and project always start in planning, planning is the stage wherein the framework or the foundation of the project is made.

Purpose

The term is also used for describing the formal procedures used in such an endeavor, such as the creation of documents, diagrams, or meetings to discuss the important issues to be addressed, the objectives to be met, and the strategy to be followed. Beyond this, planning has a different meaning depending on the political or economic context in which it is used. This thought process is essential to the creation and refinement of a plan, or integration of it with other plans, that is, it combines forecasting of developments with the preparation of scenarios of how to react to them. One more reason why you need planning is again the 80/20 Rule. It is well established that for unstructured activities 80 percent of the effort give less than 20 percent of the valuable outcome. You either spend much time on deciding what to do next, or you are taking many unnecessary, unfocused, and inefficient steps. For example, making a inventory system which requires to have datas of the items and its corresponding price. Planning includes collecting system requirements. ISDP will then serve a route through the manipulation and developing the system. It serves as a map so that the project will be succeeded. The programmers will then follow the plan so that the system will behave as it is to be. Planning is the most vital part of developing the system as it will ensure that the personnel is doing right according to the plan.

Objectives

Information System Development Plan will provide a reliable and consistent map to guide the developer to develop thier software. It will help them established an organized and well implemented techniques in developing the automation system in Warehouse Inventory Stocks.

When planning, techniques and procedures will be change because the planner will also consider the opinions of his/her co-workers for better plan. Once the plan is set, the project will then be ready for development. Once the plan is set it be consistent and must not undergo sudden changes, because once it will change, the time that was allocated will be wasted.

2. The realationship between the IS and the organization was important for the business growth where the people who works are neutrally cooperate in successful manner. The important field to have a good business is to have qualified people to work on by that less of time will be wasted and it have a good output to serve. Many organization need to have expert people who work as a information comsultant where they have a good decision to make specially for the changes of products and goods for the consumers. IS and organization will have stick relationship towards each other for many purposes; first to have communication for to client and investor choice, to have decision making for changes, and also to have strategy for good uses of information collected. Information Systems (IS) is a scientific field of study that addresses the range of strategic, managerial and operational activities involved in the gathering, processing, storing, distributing and use of information, and its associated technologies, in society and organizations. The term information systems is also used to describe an organizational function that applies IS knowledge in industry, government agencies and not-for-profit organizations. By the known of IS it have a storage of information called the Data Warehouse where The main source of the data is cleaned, transformed, catalogued and made available for use by managers and other business professionals for data mining, online analytical processing, market research and decision support. However, the means to retrieve and analyze data, to extract, transform and load data, and to manage the data dictionary are also considered essential components of a data warehousing system.

3. Impact of Information System - When we talk about Information System, it is an academic-professional discipline bridging the business field and the well-defined computer science field that is evolving toward a new scientific area of study. It can help you do activities, manage files, do support operations through Information Technology. Its function is to give basic servicesto people. Others may use it in study, banking and investing, in short as center of business. Typically, information systems or the more common legacy information systems include people, procedures, data, software, and hardware that are used to gather and analyze digital information The IS gave a good development to the company. It made a great impact in the company, wherein, managing files was easier compared before. It is also one way of communication from the outside world of the company. Office works are also done faster because it requires only a short processing time. It helps extract information from the clients and other sources as well. It enables the company to get and send information directly to their clients. It is a simplier way to get intact with their client or with the people. Necessities, questions and purchases are easily answered through Information Systems. It ensures the clients with enough information provided by the company. Because of this many companies invested in Information System. Also, with the use of Information System, the company is able to monitor the information that goes in and out of the company. Though there are circumstances that IS maybe hacked it still made a good impact to the companies. Globally, IS is one the most useful system that a company may use. It will totally help them with their business operations.

Nanotechnology: Could Create or Destroy?

Nanotechnology is the science of micro engineering. Microengineering is the science of engineering that deals with particle manipulation if those particles are smaller than 100 nanometers.

Any introduction to nanotechnology is likely to be a bit hard to grasp on a rational level for those who like to deal in the concrete. However, it should be stated that one can visualize the concrete from the results of the particle manipulation. It is often the basics of our everyday materials.
In its original sense, 'nanotechnology' refers to the projected ability to construct items from the bottom up, using techniques and tools being developed today to make complete, high performance products.

Nanotechnology (sometimes shortened to "nanotech") is the study of manipulating matter on an atomic and molecular scale. Generally, nanotechnology deals with structures sized between 1 to 100 nanometre in at least one dimension, and involves developing materials or devices possessing at least one dimension within that size. Quantum mechanical effects are very important at this scale, which is in the quantum realm.

Nanotechnology is very diverse, ranging from extensions of conventional device physics to completely new approaches based upon molecular self-assembly, from developing new materials with dimensions on the nanoscale to investigating whether we can directly control matter on the atomic scale.

There is much debate on the future implications of nanotechnology. Nanotechnology may be able to create many new materials and devices with a vast range of applications, such as in medicine, electronics, biomaterials and energy production. On the other hand, nanotechnology raises many of the same issues as any new technology, including concerns about the toxicity and environmental impact of nanomaterials, and their potential effects on global economics, as well as speculation about various doomsday scenarios. These concerns have led to a debate among advocacy groups and governments on whether special regulation of nanotechnology is warranted.

Nanotechnology is now spreading across the many scientific fields, mostly out of necessity. Scientists of yesterday are finding a need to understand nano in order to perform their own research better. For instance, biologists need to take several comprehensive courses in nanotechnology in order to understand some of the smallest particles that keep life going.


Part of an introduction to nanotechnology includes understanding the size of the particles that the scientists of the smallest bits deal with. One millimeter is about the size of a pin head. This pin head is equal to 1 million nanometers. This does not mean that all particles that are generally too small to be seen are included in the nanotechnology field.

Nanotechnology has become popular, in fact it already have a movie titled G.I Joe: The Rise of the Cobra in the year 2009. The movie will show us the power of nanomites (a nanotechnology-based weapon capable of destroying an entire city). Nanotechnology in this movie used as warheads that will cause panic and bring about a new world order.

Software Development and Web Designing

  Each of us is unique, that's true because even an identical twin even they the same face but they always differ in values and behavior. We do not have duplicate because God already destined us for different purposes. Because of that purposes, God has given us different talents so that we can use it for fulfilling that purpose. You maybe a painter, singer, dancer, and many others. These talents may become inspirations for many to continue fighting life's journey.
My talent is somehow not known to everybody. During my childhood age, I wonder what really my talent is, so I only do studying so that I have something to show off. In high school which they said that it is the most important in your life because it the stage where you must decide which path you are going to step on. I'm thinking to much what course I really want, so I decide to take business related course. Not until one year of studying, I realized that computers are the stuffed that really love and I think this would be my talent. After that realization, I proved that  writing source codes and designing are the things that I loved to do. Software development and web designing are my field of expertise. I always fun of thinking programs that is beyond imaginable and yet I'm trying to create it but I fails but at least I tried. For this time I only created simple programs. I always wondering why many programmers created viruses that makes me obsessed of creating some of it eventhough it considered as unethical. I'm just curious with those things. Another field I loved is web designing. I want other people to see my creative way of designing the webpages. As we all know, internet becomes widely used to everybody, one popular example is the facebook. Many users has been addicted because it has many features and applications that keeps the users visiting the site. That is my ambition, to create a simple yet dynamic enough to be considered a work of an expert. I like putting effects using CSS because I believe that a good-looking webpage is one of a factor that inviting the people to at least view your work. These two things that I invest almost of my time is my expertise. These would be my weapon to face my destiny and  my tool  with the changing world.
Going deeper in defining this skill Software Development  (also known as application development, software design, designing software, software application development, enterprise application development, or platform development is define as Software development) is the development of a software product. The term "software development" may be used to refer to the activity of computer programming, which is the process of writing and maintaining the source code, but in a broader sense of the term it includes all that is involved between the conception of the desired software through to the final manifestation of the software, ideally in a planned and structured process. Therefore, software development may include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities that result in software products.The need for better quality control of the software development process has given rise to the discipline of software engineering, which aims to apply the systematic approach exemplified in the engineering paradigm to the process of software development.
Web Designing is the process of designing websites — a collection of online content including documents and applications that reside on a web server/servers. This will be the vital part because you are dealing with the physical appearance of your webpage. Having a professional looking website will result in encouragement of the user to visit your site. This field will be helpful especially when you are planning to create a social networking sites.
This are my filed of expertise. It looks so interesting and challenging to anyone. So if think you have this skills, why don't you just try these would give you your true happiness. Information Technology!

Truth in Information Technology

I am Cris John Rey Tarpin. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology student in Central Mindanao University Philippines. I am currently a third year student. I love programming especially in web programming. I love designing its banner and links putting some animation using CSS styles. For me having a good looking webpage is a great factor to catch up the attention of the users so I dedicated myself in designing and animation. I also love downloading music and videos.
 For me, programming is not a assignment it is a habit and a work for those who love it. If you love something you don't have to treat it as a it looks but for what it is. Courage, dedication, motivation, skills, knowledge and faith are the best weapon in achieving something that is very valuable especially our future matters. Information Technology student is not just like writing codes and designing they are task not to be understand by a computer but to understand the computer and used its capabilities in changing our lives into a betterment.
